About this event

Ontario faces difficult times. Our health care services seem seized and our education system is crumbling while our public employees who care for our children, our elderly and others in need are left out in the cold. People can't find primary care, nor adequate long-term care when needed and Emergency rooms are closing across the province. Our education system is collapsing as people take their children out of the public school system and the government defunds it. Services for Francophones are being cut. Our affordable housing stock is non-existent. Our democratic institutions too, are under siege.

Join fellow Simcoe North Liberals for a meet & greet with Yasir Naqvi to discuss these issues, and hear what he's learned as he connects with Ontarians across the province, and be inspired by what he would do to reinvigorate the Ontario Liberal Party and to return the Promise of Ontario.

The event will take place in Oro-Medonte, just outside of Orillia, at the home of Fred Larsen. (map) RSVP would be appreciated.

Orillia's 2020 Citizen of the Year Fred Larsen was our party's candidate in the 2011 and 2014 provincial elections, and in the 2014 byelection against Patrick Brown.  After a long career as a teacher, Fred has been devoting his time to many community organizations, including serving as president of the Orillia Kiwanis Club, president of the Orillia Vocal Ensemble Board of Directors, chair and founder of the Orillia Centre for Arts and Culture (now Art Orillia), treasurer of Sustainable Orillia, and president of the Simcoe North Provincial Liberal Association.  In May this year, Lakehead University award Fred the 2023 Civitas Award for his pivotal role in the establishment of Lakehead's Orillia campus in 2006.
